Help Restore a Living Piece of Berlin History
Imagine stepping into a space where 18th-century hands built something with purpose. This is a place that once hosted town meetings, worshippers, school children, and even Berlin’s first public library. That place is the Worthington Meeting House, built in 1774 and standing proudly on Worthington Ridge as one of the oldest surviving meeting houses in Connecticut.
For more than 250 years, the Meeting House has been woven into the life of this community — first as a vibrant church and civic center, then as a school and town hall. Our restoration plan honors its rich past while giving it new life as a community cultural center and home for the Berlin Historical Society Museum. The building will host art exhibits, music and lecture series, community celebrations, and educational programs.
But we can’t do this alone.
Make a Donation
Your support will help restore and reopen the Worthington Meeting House, finally preserving its beautiful architecture and transforming it into a vibrant, flexible space for future generations. This is more than a renovation. It’s a legacy project that honors those who built this remarkable structure and makes it a living centerpiece of culture, history and community.
Join us in bringing the Worthington Meeting House back to life. Every dollar builds a bridge between Berlin's past and future. The campaign plans to raise at least $2.5 million in order to accomplish our goals.
